Located
between Aubagne and Marseille is the village of La Treille,
a village dear to Pagnol and the setting for childhood memories.
Later, many of his films were set there, like “Manon
des Sources” and notably “Cigalon”, in which
a cantankerous cook refuses to serve his customers. It is
in this latter film in 1935 that we first discover our establishment,
which has not changed since.
The village is also the arrival and departure point of the
famous Pagnol walks which line the hills and retrace the steps
of the little Marcel and his friend Lili from Bellons.
